New Bill Proposed in Albany Will Teach Your Kindergartener About Sexuality

Updated: May 4

New bill proposed by Democrats has parents up in arms

Senate Bill S6901, sponsored by Julia Salazar (D, 18th Senate District) and co sponsored by four other Democrats, has a very legitimate chance to become the law of the land. Disguised as "Healthy and Safe Students Act," the bill has local parents very upset.

A summary of the bill reads as follows:

Establishes the healthy and safe students act; requires comprehensive sexuality instruction for students in grades K-12 which includes a model curricula for comprehensive sexuality education and at a minimum conforms to the content and scope of national sexuality standards.

This bill is a carbon copy of a bill recently passed in California. This has become the norm for NY Democrats, who apparently model themselves after their Californian counter parts.

Who decided that our kindergarteners needed to be taught sexuality in the classroom? How can this be real? This infringement on our parental rights cannot be allowed to stand. To hide it by calling it the "Healthy and Safe Students Act," is also a wild move. Maybe they think we're not paying attention...newsflash...we are.

I wonder how Somers BOE Trustees feel about this bill and the sexualization of our kindergarteners. Would be nice to know before May's election exactly where our trustees stand on this issue. Please reach out to them and ask:

Let's not let our 5 year old children become sexualized because of a wildly overreaching liberal agenda.
